Chicago

My trip to Chicago can be described as a life-changing event. This was the first time I traveled completely by myself and it was also the longest period of time I spent away from home.

To continue my studies in my home country, I had to plan a language stay in an English-speaking country for at least one month. I chose to go to the United States because I was always very fund about this multi-diverse country. I soon decided to go with EF. However the decision in which city I would plan my trip, was not as easy. I then watched the introduction videos from all the places in the EF program and for some reason, the intorduction from Chicago was the one that most apieled me. It is safe to say, that I don’t regret this decision at all, as Chicago was one of the most amazing cities I have ever visited.

There is a lot of things to do and see here. It is very impressive that a city can be very metropolis in a way and simultaneously there are also this small-town-looking parts around Downtown. One mesmerizing sight was when I had the beach in front of me and behind there was the skyscraper-filled Downtown.

There are so many buildings and places that you can visit, that you will never get bored here.

New York

During winter, my best friend asked me if I wanted to go to New York in January as the flights to New York during this period were afordable. I decided to go and soon two other friends joined too. In the end we were four people including me.

New York was defently one of the places that had me mesmerized. I quickly fell in love with this crazy-big city. It was the first time for me to see these breath-taking gigantic buildings.

The only problem in New York we faced, was the cold. We went there at the end of January and some days were so cold, that I had to wear two pair of trousers. The wind was so cold that I sometimes got the feeling that my face got frozen.

One of the best moments in New York, if not the best, was the broadway show. Im very passionate about music and this experience had me stuned. I can’t find words to describe this impressive performance of these with talent-filled actors/singers.

The times square was also a spectacular sight, which is strange because it’s basicaly a publicity-filled square and people normally hate publicity.

Milwaukee

During my six weeks in Chicago, I decided to go to Milwaukee with a group of friends. We rent two cars because we were seven people including me.

Two of my friends wanted to rent a sports car, which is why ended up with two, very nice cars.

We went to an outlet first, in which I spent way too much money and now will have a problem with the weight of my bags (which already had 0.5kg overweight when I came) but this will be a problem for future-Dani.

After the outlet we went to the center of the city which was in my opinion wery cute-looking. It was not like Chicago and New York, as it was way smaller, but it was nice for me to see.

Soon we got hungry and went to eat something and decided to go back home after that.

Milwaukee was a very cute city whith less movement than New York and more quiet then Chicago, so I would defenitly reccomend this city to everybody who enjoys this type of tourism.
